Grading, explained
The whole honesty picture in one place - exactly what each grade means, what you might see, and how condition tiers and battery health fit in.
The grade is only about looks. Every phone is fully tested; the grade just tells you how much cosmetic wear to expect, so there are no surprises when it arrives.

Condition tiers
Separate from the cosmetic grade - this is about parts and faults, and it's always shown alongside the grade.
StandardFully working with original factory parts throughout, our main range. Backed by our 6-month store warranty and 14-day change-of-mind return policy.
Second LifeFully working, but one or more parts (often screen or battery) is a quality compatible part. We tell you exactly which. Great value. Backed by our 6-month store warranty and 14-day change-of-mind return policy.
AS-ISHas one clearly disclosed fault (e.g. cracked back glass). Everything else is tested. Priced low for tinkerers and spare-parts buyers. Sold strictly as a clearance item without voluntary store warranty or change of mind; statutory Australian Consumer Law guarantees apply.

Display image retention
Some OLED screens keep a faint trace of what was on them for a long time. It is a normal display characteristic, not damage, and we grade it the same way every time so the words on one listing mean the same as the words on another.
LightFaint display image retention - visible only on plain light backgrounds, unnoticeable in daily use.
ModerateSome display image retention (screen shadowing) - visible on light backgrounds, does not affect touch or function.
HeavyNoticeable display image retention.
